The National University of Science in the Sultanate of Oman discusses “Harnessing Technology to Support Students with Disabilities.”

The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the National University of Science and Technology, will host next Sunday the 41st Conference of the Arab Organization for Admission and Registration Officers in Universities of the Arab Countries. The opening ceremony will be under the patronage of Her Excellency Dr. Rahma bint Ibrahim Al-Mahrouqi, the Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research, and Innovation. The conference will take place from December 15 to 18 at the National University campus in Boushar.
This conference is organized under the auspices of the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research, and Innovation and the Coordinating Committee for Higher Education Institutions in Oman. It will cover several main topics, including:

Focusing on improving quality processes using artificial intelligence (AI) technologies

Discussing ethical challenges and required legislation to ensure responsible use of these technologies

Exploring the future of admission and registration systems and the role of technology in their development

Harnessing technology to support students with special needs and facilitate their integration into the educational process

Using AI to provide customized academic and psychological counseling for each student

Addressing challenges related to international students, reviewing best practices in supporting international students, and enhancing their academic experiences.
The conference is expected to witness broad participation with around 150 attendees from inside and outside Oman. Approximately 30 scientific papers covering various conference topics will be presented, enhancing knowledge and experience exchange among universities.
Regarding hosting the conference, Dr. Ali bin Saud Al-Baimani, President of the National University of Science and Technology, expressed his happiness in hosting this distinguished conference, which is the first of its kind in Oman. He emphasized the importance of exploring AI’s role in improving admission and registration processes in Arab universities and wished the participants a pleasant stay and the conference great success.
The Arab Organization for Admission and Registration Officers in Universities of the Arab Countries, established in 1976, is one of the institutions of the Union of Arab Universities. It serves as a leading platform bringing together experts and officers responsible for admission and registration from various Arab universities and some friendly countries’ universities. Its aim is to exchange ideas, experiences, and provide consultations related to admission and registration processes in ways that serve education and consider modern developments. The organization’s mission focuses on three main objectives: the latest uses of technology in admission and registration offices, psychological and academic counseling, and student exchange among universities.
